Police have closed a brothel after complaints from concerned residents.

Five members of the Kenton West Safer Neighbourhood Team swooped on the property in Kenton Lane, Harrow, last Tuesday afternoon to discover it was being used illegally.

It is believed police were alerted by tip-offs from residents, who had seen numerous people entering and leaving the building.

Sergeant John Burnett said: "This was a very low-key operation and was not going to bring itself to the attention of local residents, but it did, and that was enough for us to close it.

"It will help local residents have a bit more peace and quiet and female residents not to be concerned."

The team worked with the Met's Clubs and Vice department to close it down. Three girls found there were questioned, but no clients were in the building and no arrests were made.

The police are now monitoring the premises.
