I FAIL to find myself convinced that the main concern of the local council is to keep Station Road traffic moving as they claimed on page 4 of your edition of January 28.
If this was so, surely there would be an attempt to help traffic turning right from Bonnerfield Lane, as this has to stop southbound traffic on Station Road until it can find a gap in the stream of northbound traffic at the junction.
Also the pedestrian crossing opposite the mosque causes considerable congestion, which might be usefully relieved by a less frequent pedestrian phase.
