Train services on the Great Western Main Line, running through Hayes and Harlington and West Drayton, are severely disrupted this morning (Tuesday) because of the weather.

First Great Western will only be running four services between Paddington and Reading an hour, a fifth of the usual service, after Network Rail inspected the line and said that floodwater is likely to affect signalling and safety equipment.

Commuters are advised to find alternative routes, or avoid travelling altogether.

Ticket restrictions have been lifted across the First Great Western network until Friday to allow people to postpone journeys, with more disruption expected.

Additional trains will run during peak times.

Westbound services to Slough, from Paddington, will run once every hour.

Trains going to Oxford will only stop between Twyford and Didcot.

For those travelling to Reading, stopping services are only running up to Maidenhead, and rail replacement buses from there on.

The Heathrow Connect service is running as normal.

Check back for updates.
