DRUG raids at two locations in the borough have been hailed as a success after officers netted a large quantity of cannabis.

A total of 10 officers from Hillingdon's Borough Tasking Unit (BTU) executed warrants at addresses in Harefield and South Ruislip last Wednesday.

At 2pm the BTU used a battering ram to force their way into a flat in Sullivan Crescent, Harefield, where a large quantity of processed cannabis was discovered.

Officers also used sniffer dogs in the raid.

At 4pm in Long Drive, South Ruislip, the same team executed a warrant which resulted in a further quantity of cannabis being seized and a 27-year-old man being arrested.

He was bailed to return to Uxbridge Police Station in August.

Inspector Carl Spennewyn, who heads the BTU and oversaw the operation, hailed it as a success and said: "This is part of our ongoing drive to tackle drug dealers in Hillingdon.

"The warrants that were executed were successful and a good deal of team work was displayed by the officers concerned." ..
