AN EXCITING party is to be held by a local residents association to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee and bring the community together.

The celebrations will includes a bouncy castle, Irish dancers, tea cup rides, a town crier, food stalls, face painting, magicians and a gospel singers amongst a host of other things to see and do.

The fun will kick off at midday with a military street band parade, leaving from St George's Church, Harrow Road.

At dusk there will be a fireworks display for all to enjoy.

The nonprofit event aims to raise money for chosen organisations the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre and St Luke's Hospice.

Renu Kaul, one of the organisers, said: "We are all so excited about it. It has been a massive collaborative effort between the residents association, local people and businesses and it's the first time we have organised something on this scale.

"The idea came to us a while ago and it snowballed. I know a lot of elderly residents will be able to remember when the Queen was crowned, so that's nice. It's also a brilliant way to bring the community together."
