A DRAWING of a colourful nativity scene won this year’s Christmas card competition for a talented eight-year-old.

Laura Mucha, a pupil at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, Hillside, Stonebridge, won the competition organised by Brent Central MP Sarah Teather.

Her drawing of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in the manger won her a £50 book token and a guided tour of Wembley Stadium for her and her school class.

Ms Teather also visited the school for an assembly.

The drawing has been printed on to 20,000 Christmas cards and delivered to households across Brent by the MP.

Ms Teather, who runs the competition every year, said: “I always have great fun picking the winner of the competition and I’m always overwhelmed by the artistic talent of children here in Brent.

“This year’s competition was particularly hard to judge as the entries were of an exceptionally high standard, but I was really impressed with Laura’s design, which illustrates the nativity scene beautifully.”
