I read with some surprise about the proposed Priviledge Card for the residents of Hillingdon [Savings on the cards at outsiders' expense, Gazette,September 3].

I feel that this is most unfair, especially to those of us who live on the borders of Hillingdon.

I may live in Buckinghamshire, but I work and do my shopping in Uxbridge.

If I have to pay a little more just to shop and use these facilities, then I would much rather pay the extra money and take my business to Windsor or High Wycombe.

It may also affect businesses as other non-residents may feel the same way.

The report in the Gazette states that there is positive feedback from residents - well of course there would be.

I noticed that there was nothing about non-residents being asked. Why should we be penalised?

Next thing you know we will be charged just for entering Hillingdon.
