The company looking after communications for low-price retail store Primark will not confirm whether a store is coming to Uxbridge.

Rumours that the retailer could be taking over 15 units in the Pavilions have been circulating since an application was filed to Hillingdon Council in June.

A spokesman for the company said: "Unfortunately Primark does not comment on speculation regarding new store openings ."

The proposals seek approval for "the consolidation of 15 existing units within the Pavilions shopping centre to create a single, large format retail unit, including reconfiguration works at basement level, insertion of new mezzanine floor and associated works at roof level."

A spokesman for the Pavilions shopping centre said: "At the moment all the information we can provide is in the planning submission."
