Driver and play worker Dennis Johnson has been hailed as 'one in a million' by kids with special needs and their parents.
Mr Johnson, who has worked at the Log Cabin, Northfield Avenue, West Ealing for 14 years, has been nominated for the Pride in our People awards.
Mum Sharon Ball of Hunt Road, Southall said:"Dennis is definitely one in a million. All the staff are but my son wanted to nominate Dennis. He is hard-working, loyal, caring and brilliant with all the special needs children. He dedicates all his own time to the Log Cabin, even during school holidays. Dennis has a brilliant rapport with the children.
"My son has dyspraxia, dyslexia, developmental delay and a speech impediment but not once has Dennis refused to help/guide him. He is always on hand whenever the children need him."
Dennis, in his 30s, from Northolt, said:"Wow, I am very surprised about this. I get a lot of enjoyment out of the job. The children are great and it's really worthwhile. It's important to have time for them and to listen to them; show them are on their side.
"It's great when you see kids you knew years ago and they walk up to you on the street and are doing so well, in a job or education."
