AS the final countdown begins for our Pride in our People awards our sponsors talk about the importance of recognising their outstanding contributions.

This is the seventh year the awards have been run by the Gazette and Thames Valley University. The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner at the Ramada Jarvis, Ealing Common on June 10. Celebrity guest Rachel Agnew, of Loose Women fame, will present the winner of each category with £500 and the overall winner, the Star of West London, sponsored by TVU, will receive another £500.

Adrian Seal, the Gazette's multimedia content manager, said: "We have had some amazing nominees and we are looking forward to recognising their achievements on the night. We are also very grateful to our sponsors for helping to make this happen."

It was very difficult to pick just one winner as every nominee is a star of West London and an inspiration to those who live or work in the area."

Rosy Crehan Dean, Faculty of the Arts Thames Valley University, said: "I am delighted the Faculty of the Arts are sponsoring the Key worker category at this year’s pride in our people awards.The faculty is committed to working pro actively with a range of organizations in the local community."

Rob Hunter Founder and MD Hunterlodge, which is sponsoring the business award, said: "The awards demonstrate how much personal sacrifice many of the nominees continue to make to their cause and I am very proud, as is my company, to support these awards and wish all the nominees the best of luck."
