A power company has apologised to its customers after more than 1,400 of them were left without power yesterday (Tuesday).

Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) said an underground high voltage cable fault at 5.10pm left 1,470 customers in Uxbridge, Harefield and Ickenham without any power.

A spokesman for the company said that power was restored to customers across the night with the final homes being brought back on line at 00.15am.
The spokesman added: "We would like to apologise to our customers and thank them for their patience while we worked to fix the fault."
