This year’s Acton Carnival has been dubbed one of the best yet by its organisers.

Between 8,000 and 10,000 people flocked to Acton Park for the annual event hosted by Acton Community Forum in partnership with Ealing Council on Saturday (July 5).

Project Manager working with the forum, Rachel Pepper, said: “The whole event unfolded very smoothly. We had everything in place well in advance and it was a wonderful day.

“The procession was one of the highlights; there were some really imaginative interpretations of the theme ‘spirit of Acton.’”

Ms Pepper praised the high calibre performing acts on stage, including Tippa Ire, Loose Ends and Omar, and said a big thank you to the sponsors.

A family area had a circus workshop, drum making and pebble painting workshops, as well as lots of games and sporting activities.

The procession left Woodlands Park at noon and went via Crown Street and the High Street into Acton Park.
