FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to a well-loved man who died of a heart attack.

Paul Swallow, 58, had a heart attack in Shenley Avenue near Elachi Indian restaurant, Ruislip Manor, at about 6.30pm on Friday, January 23 and died shortly after arrival at Hillingdon Hospital.

His partner of 10 years, Patricia, who he lived with in Ruislip Manor, said: "There was an altercation in Coral bookmakers in Ruislip Manor and he left to go to his car and had a heart attack.

"It could have happened at any time as a result of the post mortem due to his heart condition.

"Paul moved from Leeds to London 10 years ago and his nickname was Yorkie.

"He had made a lot of friends in that time and was well liked and respected in the community. Ruislip became his second home and he loved living here.

"He was a keen Leeds supporter and was from a large family in Leeds. He was survived by eight brothers and sisters.

"Paul's family and friends are saddened and shocked by his very sudden death."

A friend of Paul's, who preferred not to be named, said: "I knew Paul for 10 years and everybody loved him. He was a very popular man.

"He was likeable and he wouldn't hurt a fly.

"He came from Yorkshire so people called him Yorkie Paul or Yorkie.

"It was just a silly incident and a bit of a tragedy really."

A post mortem was held at Uxbridge Mortuary which gave the cause of death as natural causes.

Details of Paul's funeral arrangements, which will be held in Leeds, will be posted on http://ruislip.uxbridgegazette.co.uk/ by Friday.
