Parishioners of the Church of Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury were delighted to welcome the Archbishop Faustino Sainz-Munoz in a special blessing service and Mass.
The papal Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Faustino Sainz-Munoz, who is the Pope's Ambassador in Britain, was in town on Sunday to dedicate the newly-installed stained glass window in honour of Saints Peter and Paul and to bless the new Parish Garden of Peace and Prayer.
After the blessings, the guests and parish community attended a special reception to greet the Archbishop and welcome him to the Catholic Parish of Our Lady and St. Thomas of Canterbury, Harrow-on-the-Hill.
The mayor and mayoress of Harrow and 12 local council-lors also attended the event, where champagne and canapés were enjoyed by all.
Father Guy Sawyer, parish priest, said: "It was a wonderful occasion for the parish community and it was an honour to wel-come the mayor and mayoress of Harrow and 12 local council-lors. It was a fantastic day."
