EVERY dog had its day at an annual show where pooches paraded in pirate outfits or tutus.

More than 120 canine contestants took part in the Ravenscourt Park dog show on Saturday. There they competed for prizes that included awards for the best costume and the best puppy.

Nudel the dachshund proved to be top dog by scooping the Best in Show title and winning the Best Pedigree class.

About 500 visitors gathered in the park to watch proud owners show off their pets for a variety of serious and light-hearted classes.

Juno, an Italian greyhound, and owner Becky Kirsten won the prize for the best rescue dog.

Monty, a cockapoo (cocker spaniel and poodle cross) and owner Christina McPherson took home the best cross-breed honours.

Murphy and owner Sonia Gowler won the best puppy award and the best young handler title went to Charlotte Lone with Ernie her whippet.

The contest, organised by Hammersmith and Fulham Council’s parks police service, also raised £350 for the Dogs Trust, whose volunteers helped to micro-chip dogs and provide advice to dog owners.
