A driver who died after crashing into a tree in Feltham has been named as Pete Buckmaster.

The 22-year-old, of Sunbury, was involved in a collision in Chertsey Road last Sunday, April 6, at about 1.30am.

He was treated at the scene and airlifted to St Mary's Hospital, where he died from his injuries the following day.

Police today renewed their appeal for witnesses to the crash, which happened close to the junction with Cadbury Road, saying they were particularly keen to speak to one bystander.

Detective Sergeant Jeff Edwards, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have spoken to a number of witnesses so far. I am grateful to a number of people who stopped at the scene to assist the casualty that night.

"We would still like to speak to one man who we believe was standing outside the Meadhurst Sports Ground at the time of the collision. If that was you I would ask you to contact police."

A post-mortem examination was held at Westminster Mortuary last Thursday (April 10) but the result has yet to be confirmed.

An inquest into Mr Buckmaster's death was opened and adjourned last Friday (April 11) at Westminster Coroner's Court.
