A suspected abduction in Fulham has been linked to an assault which left a man critically injured in the early hours of Friday morning.

The Metropolitan Police said its officers pursued a suspect vehicle after it sped off from Beverley Way in Kingston at around 12.50am.

According to police, a 20-year-old man was found near where the car was parked with serious injuries after being assaulted.

A spokesman for the force said he is in a critical condition in hospital.

Police believe the assault was linked to an incident at around 12.40am in St Marks Close, Fulham, where a man was seen by witnesses being dragged into a car.

Another male, aged 19, was found at the scene with stab wounds.

He was treated at a west London hospital but has been discharged.

Police said it is not known how many suspects were in the car which they described as a silver Mercedes C220 Estate.

Officers from Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating and continuing with enquiries.
