Two robbers are on the loose after snatching a cash box from a security officer in Hanwell yesterday.

The men grabbed the cash box from a security custodian as he was walking towards Sainsbury's on Boston Road, Hanwell.

The two suspects are both described as white males. One is thought to be around 35-year's-old, 6ft tall, stocky, wearing a black balaclava, grey jumper and black trousers. The other suspect is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, medium build, wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.

After running at the security man shouting for him to give them the money the two men snatched the cash box and got into a white transit van.

They drove into Clitherow Avenue, Hazlemere Avenue, Raymond Avenue, Mayfield Avenue and into Northcroft Road. The van is sighted a short while later overtaking cars on the wrong side of Northfields Avenue and turning right into Mattock Lane. This was the last sighting of the vehicle.The security custodian received scratches to the left forearm.

A police spokesman said: "On Tuesday, November 25, at 10.35am, police were called to reports of a cash-in-transit robbery outside Sainsbury’s, Boston Road, which had just occurred.

"There have been no arrests at this stage. Inquiries continue."
