Brave police staff were honoured for their heroism at last night's annual commendation ceremony.
Nearly 30 officers picked up awards during the bash at Syon House, hosted by borough commander David Bilson.
They were praised for everything from standing up to a knife-wielding soldier to uncovering a huge stash of guns in a leafy street.
A couple from Chiswick were also honoured for catching a serial rapist after he dragged his victim into their driveway.
Peter Thompson, leader of Hounslow Council, said: "All these people were doing a job but we've seen tonight it wasn't an ordinary job.
"They put themselves in dangerous situations most people would walk away from and that shows great duty and dedication."
Det Insp Andy was among the award winners after leading the Sapphire team's successful investiagtion into a sex beast who attacked four woman in one night.
"This was an incredibly unusual case and not something I've ever come across before," he said.
"It was a real whodunnit at first but the team worked extremely hard and eventually things started to fit into place."
