Police helicopter called over man on roof of mental health unit in Isleworth

Police were called to Lakeside Mental Health Unit, beside West Middlesex Hospital, just before 8.30am

A police helicopter was this morning called to reports of a man on the roof of a mental health ward in Isleworth.

Police were called to Lakeside Mental Health Unit, beside West Middlesex Hospital, in Twickenham Road, Isleworth, at 8.27am.

They were told the man was refusing to come down from the roof but after the helicopter arrived the man came down of his own volition. He is not believed to have been harmed.

The police helicopter tweeted: "West Middx Hospital. Assisted to search for a suspect on the hospital roof."

Lakeside Mental Health Unit is is run by West London Mental Health Trust.
