A MAN from Northwood suffered bruising to his left eye and large swelling to his forehead during an alleged assault over the Easter weekend.

The 24-year-old is said to have been attacked just after midnight on Saturday, April 3, outside Roosters Chicken, at the junction on High Street and Clarendon Road, Watford.

It is believed that there was an altercation between a group of men which resulted in the victim needing hospital treatment.

A 30-year-old man from Rickmansworth and a 32-year-old man from west London have been arrested for assault and are on police bail until May, pending further enquiries.

DC Jane Swift, investigating, said: "We are taking this assault extremely seriously and would urge anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the incident to call police.

"There were a lot of people around at the time who may well have witnessed this assault or seen the group leading up to or following the incident."
