SO IAN Gibb was attracted to Ealing because of its parks.

Now he seems to be one of the prime movers to take away a park, Ealing Central Sports Ground, from the Perivale residents, the same residents that he hopes will be his prospective constituents, and replace the park with a school.

This park is heavily used by the community surrounding it and, I understand, was given to Ealing Council to be kept as a park.

I thought that those wishing to become an MP, which he obviously does as he previously stood (and failed) for North Warwickshire in 2005, always tried to ingratiate themselves with the electorate and not antagonise them.

Those of us who voted for a Conservative Council did not vote them in to take away our park. There was no mention of this land grab in their election material althought they did promise to improve the Medway Estate. Some improvement to remove its park!

If this park is taken away from us then I doubt if many of us will vote Conservative again and Ian Gibb will once again fail to get on board the MP gravy train.
