A woman from Pinner has told of her escape from a cabbie who allegedly spiked customers drinks so he could rape and sexually assault them.

The 22-year-old woman pretended to sip her drink from John Worboys, of Rotherhithe, South London, who claimed to have won the lottery and offered his passengers champagne laced with sedatives, a court heard yesterday.

When the 51-year-old driver dropped her off in November 2006, he allegedly said: "You've really wasted my time."

Worboys was arrested in February 2008 and denies 23 charges involving 14 victims, which include rape, sexual assault and assault by penetration. The attacks took place between October 2006 and February 2008.

The trial continues at Croydon Crown Court, in South London.
