A VET has enjoyed more than just her 15 minutes of fame after appearing on children's TV show Blue Peter for a fourth time.

Reena Patel, who works at the Medivet practice in Pinner Green, first appeared on the popular BBC One series last October. The show's producers have asked her back three times since.

Her latest slot was on Wednesday's live show, when she talked about owning rabbits and offered advice on housing, feeding and health checks.

She said: "It was a big surprise when they called. I was a massive fan of Blue Peter as a child, so having a chance to appear on the show was something I was definitely not going to turn down."

Ms Patel proved she is a natural TV performer and now regularly cares for Blue Peter pets, such as Barney the dog.

"I make sure that Helen and the rest of the Blue Peter team are feeding and exercising the pets correctly and that all the pets are well looked after. This isn't hard, as the Blue Peter team are fantastic pet owners."
