CHILDREN from a Pinner school sang a selection of Jewish songs as they celebrated the eight-day festival of Chanukah with two top members of the government.
Twenty-two pupils of the Moriah Jewish Day School choir in Cannon Lane took part in the traditional Jewish candle-lighting ceremony at 10 Downing Street with the Chancellor, George Osborne, and education secretary, Michael Gove, on Wednesday last week .
They were accompanied by their headteacher Alan Shaw and other senior members of staff.
Mr Shaw said: “Tonight has been such an honour for us and the children. We are delighted to have had the privilege of singing at No 10.
“Each child received a personal invitation to Downing Street, something they will cherish and I’m sure will keep to show their own children.”
