Families flocked to Ruislip on Bank Holiday Monday for the launch of live music and comedy event The Sunday Sessions.

The mini festival, set up by the Sound Crowd's Dan Nicholls and Duck Pond Market's Caron Pook, brought together a mix of acoustic music, stand up comedy, storytelling, festival fun, street food and beer to Manor Farm in Bury Street.

The doors of the 17th Century Great Barn opened at 11am and it was almost immediately packed with people waiting to see the eight different acts who performed during the day, compered by comedian Mark Jones.

Caron said: "The response was amazing, people obviously want this kind of thing to happen locally, we couldn't have been busier, we think we had around 3,000 people through the doors and lots of people stayed to enjoy the entertainment and sunshine all day.

"The lawn was full of groups enjoying the incredible array of food and drink and all the children's entertainment was mobbed - especially the Lego table.

"Feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we can't wait for next month where we will have a different line up of acts, more food, and even more children's entertainment."

Friends, families and complete strangers pulled together to keep the show moving according to Dan.

He added: "The atmosphere was fantastic. The level of support from performers and the crowd was inspiring.

"Special thanks to Mark Jones our brilliant compere, The Comedy Bunker, Orchard Property Services for helping with promotion and of course, to everyone that came and made it such an amazing launch."

The next Sunday Session will be held on June 8. You can follow the Sunday Sessions on Facebook or on their website  thesundaysessions.org
