A nativity play was reimagined from the perspective of the innkeeper’s cat.

Around 120 pupils in reception, year one and two took part in the modern take on the traditional Christmas story at St Stephen’s School, in Shepherd’s Bush, last week.

Headteacher Michael Schumm said: “We called the nativity The Landlord’s Cat. We wanted to take a more creative take on the traditional nativity from the point of view of the landlord’s cat in the stable at the time.

“The children had an absolutely amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed performing to their parents.

“The staff worked really hard to create all the props and direct the play.”

The Three Kings also made an unusual entrance wearing high-visibility jackets and hard hats as they entered through the school’s extension building site.

The Uxbridge Road school is being upgraded to accommodate an extra two classes per year. The new classrooms will be completed in May, with new children starting in September next year.
