Pupils at a Hanworth school celebrated the opening of their new teaching block with a ribbon cutting ceremony and afternoon tea party, last week.

Mayor of Hounslow Corinna Smart opened the grand new building at Crane Park primary school on Norman Avenue, on Friday, November 14.

At the opening, more than 450 people including the headteacher, governers and teaching staff enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment from the school's musicians, singers, ballerinas and Bollywood dancers.

This was followed by a spread for afternoon tea and a tour of the building which will be used as additional learning spaces.

Headteacher Alison Small said: "The event was a great success.

"Our guests were treated to a special presentation by our school musicians, ballerinas, choir and Bollywood dancers followed by afternoon tea and a tour of the new build.

"After all the excitement the pupils marked the event by enjoying class celebrations and refreshments.

"The new build has enhanced the overall learning environment for all pupils at Crane Park bringing two bright, modern and spacious areas which complement the thriving community that is Crane Park Primary."
