Music, dance and a host of other fun drew a massive crowd to the ‘best ever’ Party in the Park this year.

More than 8,000 people enjoyed the event organised by the Pitshanger Community Association on Sunday which is in its 14th year. Live music, dance acts, a dog show, sports games, arts and crafts, tasty food, a raffle and more entertained revellers in Pitshanger Park, Ealing.

The arena was named after Dave Wallis who used to organise the events in it and was a long-standing member of the association’s committee until his death following a heart attack earlier this year. His daughter Rosie Wallis was honoured on stage for completing the Brighton to London 100k overnight walk for the British Heart Foundation that day.

Association chairwoman Karen Jacks, said: "This year’s was the best ever; everything was perfect. We’re all totally shattered. It’s a volunteer-led event and there’s lots of planning and preparation but the satisfaction of seeing lots of people sitting into the evening enjoying the music and picnics makes it all worth it. The community came together."

Also taking place last weekend was the music-themed Hanwell Carnival.
