Older people's artistic wartime works were celebrated at an exhibit in Feltham last week.

The Remember Together at 60+ programme was a Second World War memory sharing project, with First World War commemoration, involving elderly people from across the borough including those living in sheltered accommodation.

As part of the three-month project a range of creative art pieces were made including a radio, a family cardboard cut out and wedding cake.

Family and friends who visited the display at Feltham Assembly Hall on Thursday, October 23, were also privy to reading old letters, wartime newspapers and books.

The project was part of the Hounslow Older People's Festival and the arty ideas and creative works were developed by the 60+ participants from areas across the borough including Brentford , Feltham and Isleworth, with the help of artist Susie John, and Feltham Arts project designer Victoria McCorkell.

Hounslow Homes and Feltham Arts worked in partnership to deliver a programme of activities and arts around the centenary, which was funded by the Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All.
