Shoppers turned out for a special street party to support independent traders in Northwood Hills.

The second Independents' Day, held along Joel Street, saw shop owners offer special discounts and promotions and many traders set up shop along the high street.

People could enjoy street food, entertainment including singer Cherish Bristow and music from The Ukelele Ladies.

There were also lots of fun activities for youngsters at the event, run by the high street’s independent businesses in conjunction with Northwood Hills Residents’ Association.

It was also the first official chance to show off the  refurbished Northwood Hills high street which has been part of Hillingdon Council’s town centre improvement programme funded by the  Mayor of London .

Independents' Day was set up to encourage people to shop local, support shop owners and highlight the variety of independent businesses available in Northwood Hills.
