Stalls lined the streets and shoppers came in their droves to experience some festive fun at the annual Lighting up the Manor event, kick starting the Christmas shopping season in  Ruislip  Manor.

The  Winter Fun Day  began on Saturday, November 8 in Victoria Road at 11am and soon families were flocking to make the most of the fun available.

Traders in the high street had the chance to promote their shops and businesses with discounts and special offers.

Families enjoyed fun fair rides, amusements and racing car simulators.

Vintage police cars and motorbikes were on display, trade and charity stalls offered games and gifts and cafes and restaurants spilled out of their doors to offer shoppers tasty warming food and drink.

The event, organised by the Ruislip Manor Chamber of Commerce (RMCC) and supported by Hillingdon Council, ended with the turning on of the high street's Christmas light by the Mayor of Hillingdon, councillor Catherine Dann.

RMCC chairman Les Drussel said: "Thank you all very much to everyone involved for taking part in some way and helping RMCC making our day such a success, even though the weather was precarious in many ways.

"Without the backing from our councillors and various members of The London Borough of Hillingdon team and associates, this would not have been such a success."
