A pervert who secretly filmed a woman in a swimming pool changing room has been given a community order lasting three years.

George Seaton was caught spying on an unsuspecting visitor at The Aspire National Training Centre in Wood Lane, Stanmore, the sports centre run by spinal injury charity Aspire.

He struck on February 1 in the mixed changing room by holding his mobile telephone underneath the wall of a changing cubicle and recording his victim.

Concerned staff alerted the police when users of the centre – whose 25m pool is open to the public – noticed his unusual behaviour, and the 41-year-old was arrested and charged the following day.

Seaton, of Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, appearing at Hendon Magistrates Court on Friday, admitted a single charge of voyeurism and was sentenced to a three-year supervised community order and ordered to carry out a sex offenders group programme.

Chief Executive of Aspire, Brian Carlin said afterwards: “Thanks to the vigilance and professionalism of the Aspire staff Mr Seaton was apprehended by the police and has been charged accordingly.”
