Performers with learning disabilities were awarded for their talents at an 'Oscars' event in Perivale.

IMPACT Theatre Company and Outreach Network in Ealing Central Sports Ground, Horsenden Lane South, held their biannual ceremony to celebrate the work of their artists on December 11 at the Royal Nawaab, Perivale.

The evening included the presentation of awards, film clips, photographs, dinner and dancing.

Awards were presented by BAFTA award-winning set designer Eve Stewart, musician Keith Waite, actress Alice Eve and the theatre's patron Sharon Maughan.

There were 28 categories and in most of these there were two medalists and an Oscar winner. The medals were for effort and improvement and the Oscar was for the best in that category.

MP for Ealing North Steve Pound said on the night: “There are two Oscars every year. There is the drab affair in Los Angeles and then there is the real Oscars in Ealing – the IMPACT Oscars.”
