A PENSIONER was rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Uxbridge.

The 61-year-old man was hit by a purple Audi TT Quatro at 10.16am on Saturday near Beasleys Yard in High Street, Uxbridge.

An ambulance and two fast response teams stabilized the man, who suffered leg, wrist and head injuries.

He was taken to Hillingdon Hospital, where his condition was believed to be serious but not life threatening.

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and bailed to appear at Uxbridge Police Station in October after further investigations have been carried out.

High Street, Harefield Road and Bakers Road, were shut from 10.33am.

All the roads were re-opened by 3.50pm.
