TWO elderly Brent women have been brutally battered in separate frenzied attacks outside their homes.

One of the victims, a 73-year-old, had spent Wednesday morning attending mass at a nearby church and visiting a hairdressers before she was repeatedly hit over the head and left for dead on her doorstep.

She was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries at 11.43am but is now in a stable condition with her daughter by her side. It is not yet known whether a weapon was used during the assault in Kenwood Court, Roe Green.

Less than a hour later a 61-year-old, grandmother-of-five, was punched in the head as she put her key in the front door of her house in Sherborne Gardens.

The attacker continued to hit her as she fell to the ground. In both cases the robber ran off with the victims' handbags which contained mobile phones and purses.

Police are linking the two attacks with another serious assault which happened in Mollison Way, Harrow, on the same day at 10.30am.

Officers have also informed murder squad detectives investigating the killing of 81-year-old Molly Morgan, who was mugged in Streatfield Road, Kenton, in January.
