A PENSIONER has been killed after being hit by a motorbike while crossing the road.

A PENSIONER has been killed after being hit by a motorbike while crossing the road.

The accident happened in The Vale, Acton, near the junction with Centre Avenue.

The air ambulance arrived soon after the crash at about 7.10pm on Friday (20). Medics pronounced the 84-year-old dead at the scene an hour later.

The 43-year-old motorbike rider stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Officers from the Met's Road Death Investigation Unit are investigating.

Witnesses are asked to contact them on 0208 842 1817.
