A pedestrian has been hit by a lorry in one of Chelsea's main thoroughfares this afternoon.

Reports are coming in about the accident at the junction of Edith Grove and the King's Road, with ambulances and police at the scene.

Police were called at 2.23pm and getwestlondon is waiting for confirmation on what has happened from the police.

Traffic news currently says Edith Grove, which links the King’s Road to the Fulham Road, is closed and southbound traffic is forming big queues from the Fulham Road junction to the Lots Road junction by Cremorne Road.

Traffic is also building up on Chelsea Embankment and up to the A4 West Cromwell Road junction.

Bus routes 11, 22, 328 and C3 have been diverted according to Transport for London who said the road is expected to be closed until this evening.

More to come as we get it...
