A PEDESTRIAN died of a head injury sustained in a collision with a refuse collection lorry.The 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on Tuesday at 9.30am at the Sapcote Trading Estate, Dudden Hill Lane, in Dollis Hill.The victim has not been formally identified by police and a post-mortem examination was today and gave the cause of as a head injury.An inquest is due to open tomorrow at North London Coroner's Court.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He was taken to a north London police station and bailed to return on a date in April 2012 pending further enquiries.

The collision is being investigated by officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit at Alperton Traffic Garage.

Senior investigating officer Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne, said: "This collision happened at a busy time and although this is a private trading estate we know a lot of people use it as a cut through to
Willesden High Road. "If anyone saw what happened or can tell us anything about the incident please call us".
