IN RESPONSE to Chris Whittart's comments regarding the lack of grass cutting in Hanworth Park, I feel I must take the opposing view.

What a pleasure it is to walk my dog through the park on the wide and adequately-mown pathways and be able to admire what to me is a country meadow full of wild flowers and different types of tall grasses.

Perhaps, Mr Whittart, instead of living in the past and bemoaning the demise of 'Old Reg', it would be better to highlight the present problems with the park.

For example, the rundown condition of the Park Road entrance with its associated graffiti and dumping of waste; the continuing problem with motorcycle scramblers and the lack of action on the proposed Hanworth Park House redevelopment.

Grass is a seasonal issue if you want to make it that, these problems are longer term.
