Seven people have been checked by paramedics at the scene of a road traffic collision on the M4 in Brentford this morning (19).

Thousands of motorists were reported to be stuck in heavy traffic as the accident caused severe delays, particularly in the Chiswick area, during the early morning rush hour.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics attended as tailbacks stretched back to Chiswick roundabout, and queues were reported back through Kew, Ealing and Hangar Lane.

A LAS spokewoman said: "We were called at 7.20pm to the M4 in Brentford to reports of a road traffic collision.

"We sent one ambulance crew to the scene and checked over seven patients.

"No-one was taken to hospital."

Chaos will continue for motorists with the planned closures of Hogarth Flyover, Putney Bridge, and Hogarth Flyover.

We are waiting to hear back from the police for more information on the accident.
