PARALYMPIC poster-girl Ellie Simmonds visited Chiswick School on Friday to launch the Sainsbury's Active Kids for All programme.

The London 2012 double gold medal winner talked of the Paralympic legacy and how important it is for all kids to have access to sports facilities, as well as disabled children to have the confidence to take part in activities.

After two Paralympics, the 17-year-old, is very much at ease with talking to crowds and when asked by a pupil from Chiswick School, what she would like to do when she is older, she revealed that as well as continuing to swim, she would also enjoy working in a patisserie as she loves baking.

The youngest ever person to receive an MBE said: "Children should be given the opportunity to do sport, no matter if they are disabled or not, and the Sainsbury's Active Kids for All programme is here to do just that, I think it's great."

Nina Pryce, 15, is a student at Chiswick School. She said: "It was amazing! I couldn't believe she was actually here, at our school. When I met her she was just so normal, it so bizarre to think she's only a year and a half older than us."

Justin King, CEO of Sainsbury's said: "We are so proud to launch this great programme with Ellie. To be able to fund a project that will not only encourage disabled children to take part in sport, but will also give teachers the confidence and skills to teach disabled kids sports, is just fantastic.

"Ellie is such a great example of how anything is possible."
