The owner of a beloved vintage Triumph convertible stolen from outside his Chelsea house is asking for help to find it.

The 52-year-old man had parked the £20,000 car in a resident’s bay in Beaufort Street on June 7 at 6pm but when he went out the following day at noon he discovered the car had been stolen and reported it to police.

He has had the car for 33 years and bought it new when he was 18-years-old so it is of great sentimental value to him.

DC Ed Alaszewski from Kensington and Chelsea Police, said: “The car is quite unique and although production ceased 30 years ago there are still several hundred of them around the UK.

“Following door-to-door enquiries in the area a witness has told police that two white males, one wearing a grey tracksuit were seen in the early hours of the morning tampering with the car. Unfortunately police were not called and both men made off in a white vehicle.”

The registration number is: KDN 938N
