Parks in Brent have received the prestigious green flag awards, which are given to the best parks in the country.
Both Roundwood Park,in Harlesden and Gladstone Park,in Dollis Hill, won the awards that only go to the best parks and green spaces in the U.K. The awards are given out by the Civic Trust.
Roundwood Park has now won a green flag every year since 1997, and Gladstone Park won its fourth green flag award this year. The success of the parks is partly to do with the continuous improvements that are carried out by Brent Council.
The park has been modernised to cater for Brent's diverse community, without losing its Victorian heritage. Lavish flower beds have helped the park win the London in Bloom award for the last 10 years.
Also in the park are a café, wildlife area, aviary and children's playground.
Shaun Faulkner,Head of Brent Council's Parks Service said: "Getting ten green flags for Roundwood Park is an outstanding accomplishment."
"It demonstrates how the high professional standards, supported by the local community involvement, have achieved excellence."
