Your newspaper has given a very fair coverage of articles and letters from opponents of the expansion of Heathrow over the years.

Such opponents, as myself, are unlikely to be opponents of Heathrow as such but people who believe that enough is enough, and that further expansion will be an ecological disaster, and especially for Ealing, including aircraft noise, pollution, road congestion and surface access gridlock.

A government decision is expected this week, after continual delay in order to find a time suitable to bury bad news, and may be issued before you go to print.

A point I wish to make is that, when you refer to or quote organisations concerned with opposition to the expansion of Heathrow, you do not refer to the Ealing Aircraft Noise Action Group. This is our own home-grown pressure group, which has been deeply involved with the subject since 1976.

It is a member of the Heathrow Airport Consultative Committee, and was a major objector at the T5 inquiry.
