I took my four-year-old girl and five-year-old boy to school on January 7.

The main roads were clear of ice, but as I turned into Avondale Drive the road looked like an untreated country lane.

Which I was very shocked to see as Minet School is on that road.

I was called out to an accident (I'm a recovery driver) so I phoned my better half to contact the council about gritting the road. The coucil told her that it was not a priority.

Now surely if the children have to use that road to go to school the road must be made safe?

I have seen many accidents on less of a road like that.
