I was sorry to read two adverse reports concerning Fletcher ward.

I was an 84-year-old male patient in this ward in July/August 2007.

I was treated with care and consideration by the doctor and nurses during my stay.

In particular, I remember the good humour I shared with Francisca.

We enjoyed some laughs together which was surely a contributing factor to my recovery.

Other patients who were unable to feed or wash themselves were not neglected but fed by the nurses or bathed behind closed curtains.

I saw Francisca shave all the patients who required it. She was an expert with the lather and razor. No one was cut.

I felt your articles were unjust to the nurses who treated me.
