Notting Hill Carnival: Grand finale as street party remembers victims of Grenfell Tower fire

At 3pm revellers paused to remember the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy

The streets of W10 will be alive with vibrant music and colourful dancing for the Notting Hill Carnival 2017 .

Taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend, the parade is a free celebration of Caribbean culture.

At 3pm on both Sunday and Monday, revellers will pause to remember the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The Metropolitan Police has said that 106 people have been arrested during the first day (August 27) of the Notting Hill Carnival - mostly for drug related offences.

70 people taken to hospital yesterday

The number of people treated by London Ambulance Service yesterday has gone up.

Over 400 people required assistance and 70 were taken to hospital.

According to the service, “many of them had too much to drink”.

Thousands of Met Police officers briefed

Thousands of Met Police officers have been briefed and are working towards a “safer and better carnival”, according to Labour politician Unmesh Desai.
