I am writing with regard to the proposed erection of bus stops on Mellow Lane West, because the council says it has taken public opinion [into account]. I have also sent a copy of this letter to the council.

As a resident for over four years, I have never been made aware of this either by public notice or service of such notice to my address.

Therefore I fail to see how the council have taken public opinion and approval into account.

I have spoken to residents of Mellow Lane West and they too confirm that they have not been served or given notice on this action that the council have approved.

We all agree that we do not wish to have bus stops erected on a narrow and congested road such as Mellow Lane West.

The road is already used as a thoroughfare, with cars speeding down this narrow road, and I have written to the council to [suggest] speed break-

The proposed construction of bus stops will further aggravate the situation and, combined with the noise and the air pollution will be a grave concern for residents.

We have a lot of litter, graffiti and vandalism on our residential road already, and by having bus stops there it would further increase the problem.

The stops would only be a few metres in front of our residence and it greatly affects our privacy as we and our neighbours have open driveways.

Potentially, bus stops can be erected on adjoining Hewens Road and Pole Hill Road as they are much larger and wider roads.

NAVEED MALIK,

Mellow Lane West, Hillingdon.
