As a resident of Hounslow, I am disappointed that the third runway is being allowed to go ahead despite local objection.

Our neighbouring MP, John McDonnell, was the only one in the House of Commons who expressed how we, the local residents, really feel about this undemocratic decision. Why is he the only one with enough courage?

Pollution is measured per area and by allowing the third runway and sixth terminal it will allow a greater area for pollution to be dispersed into. In the long run and in real terms, it will allow more pollution on a larger scale.

We are now being patronised by the Government and the so-called business leaders about the benefits that a larger airport will bring to the economy (no lessons being learnt from the current economic fiasco).

As for the people who backed this project, no doubt they will have personal financial benefits.
